Naturopathic Medicine & Acupuncture
Naturopathic Medicine
Naturopathic medicine is a science-based approach to healing that emphasizes identifying the root cause of disease rather than merely treating symptoms. This involves focusing on the whole person and exploring nutrition, hydration, sleep, structural integrity, environmental exposures, and socioeconomic factors that all contribute to our health. The goal is to use the most natural, least-invasive methods as a first line of treatment whenever possible.
Acupuncture
Around for over 2,000 years, acupuncture is another therapy that focuses on the root cause of disease. While people may present with a similar manifestation in the body, each individual diagnosis is based on the unique constitution of that person according to traditional Chinese medicine. Generally, this involves an imbalance within the body that leads to issues such as back pain, headaches, or sleep difficulty. Once identified, we work to restore balance within the body using acupuncture needles or other methods such as cupping and Chinese massage.
Yin Yoga
In today’s fast-paced world, it can be incredibly difficult to find balance in our lives. This even shows up in the way we move throughout the day and our preferred yoga practice. Yin yoga is an alternative to the more active forms of yoga most people practice regularly. In Yin yoga, the focus is on stressing the connective tissue rather than the muscles they support in the body. Since the poses are held longer, Yin yoga is also more meditative in nature and prepares the mind and body for the repair and healing necessary on a daily basis.
